WHY STUDENT CO-OPERATIVE HOUSING?

Often, the high priced, low quality housing students must endure during post-secondary study add undue stress to their lives and hinder academic success.

In Halifax there have been limited options for students to attain healthy, comfortable housing at a fair price. The long established system of co-operative housing offers time-tested solutions to these widespread problems. Students are involved in decision making through the board of directors and member meetings which offer established avenues to deal with concerns in an effective manner.

Student co-operative housing also offers the opportunity to learn diverse business skills in an environment conducive to academic study and community support.
